I am an anthropologist specializing in medical anthropology with a PhD in public health science. My focus areas include individuals with mental, psychosocial, and unexplained disorders, as well as interdisciplinary collaboration in the healthcare system. I am an associated researcher at the Research Unit for General Practice in Copenhagen and employed at Functional Disorders, Aarhus University Hospital. My current work involves adults and young people with prolonged physical symptoms, including how to develop internet-based self-help for these groups. Previously, I worked with young individuals facing complex psychosocial problems and difficulties completing education or attaining stable employment (PhD project). I have also carried out projects on prevention and rehabilitation related to chronic illness, focusing on patient perspectives on living with chronic diseases and interdisciplinary cooperation in this field. My PhD thesis addressed young people with complex psychosocial problems and non-psychotic mental disorders and difficulties completing education or maintaining stable employment, examining both the experiences of the young people and the perspectives of involved professionals from general practice, municipalities, and psychiatry.
