Dr. Julie Biteen

Biography

Julie Biteen is the Janine Maddock Collegiate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on molecular-scale details that help understand the macroscale world, especially in the context of biology, physics, and materials science. Her group addresses fundamental challenges in developing single-molecule fluorescence imaging technologies that provide ultrahigh-resolution, real-time imaging of complex biological systems. These single-molecule methods have high impact across various disciplines, allowing for high-sensitivity measurements and the characterization of movements at the nanometer scale.
