Biography

Julie Tedjeske Crane is a Reference Librarian and Professor of Legal Research at the H. Laddie Montague Jr. Law Library of Penn State Dickinson Law. In addition to her library-related responsibilities, Professor Crane teaches legal research in the first-year curriculum and upper-level courses. She has worked as an attorney for 15 years, practicing general civil litigation. As a librarian, she has worked at La Roche College, the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University, and the Chicago-Kent School of Law. Professor Crane's research interests include instructional design, user experience design, critical legal information literacy, and promoting the use of open educational resources. She holds a J.D., M.S. in Information Science, M.L.S., and a B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh. She has served as a managing editor and published member of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review and was elected to the National Order of Barristers. Additionally, she is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar and has various roles within the American Association of Law Libraries.
