Biography

Julie Donofrio is an urban planner and designer with extensive experience developing plans and policies at various scales. She specializes in creating equitable processes for community engagement and is responsible for leading planning projects that range from regional and city plans to public space and park planning. Utilizing both qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques, her work is dedicated to the equitable transformation of practice in place through thoughtful collaborations and sustained community partnerships aimed at overcoming systemic inequities, wealth building, and leadership development. Currently, Julie serves as the Planning Associate Co-coordinator at OLIN Labs in Philadelphia, leading planning projects and research initiatives that focus on equitable community development and climate action through decarbonization. Before her role at OLIN, she was the Managing Director at PennPraxis for seven years and worked with the multidisciplinary planning design firm WRT in both Philadelphia and San Francisco. In addition to her practical work, Julie is a faculty member in the Department of Historic Preservation and the Department of City and Regional Planning at Weitzman, where she has taught and coordinated planning workshops and developed courses dedicated to community engagement and social impact practice.
