Biography

Julie Dorsey is the Frederick W. Beinecke Professor at Yale University, where she teaches courses in computer graphics. Dorsey joined Yale in 2002 after holding tenured appointments in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the School of Architecture at MIT. She earned multiple degrees from Cornell University, including B. Dorsey has served on numerous conference program committees and was the Editor-in-Chief of ACM Transactions on Graphics. She has received prestigious awards, including the Edgerton Faculty Achievement Award from MIT, the National Science Foundation Career Award, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Research Fellowship. Dorsey was a fellow at the Radcliffe Institute at Harvard and at the Whitney Humanities Center at Yale, both in 2010-2012.
