Dr. Julie Kennedy

Biography

Julie Kennedy is an Emeritus Faculty and Senior Fellow at the Woods Institute for the Environment at Stanford University. She has held various esteemed positions, including Co-Director of the Earth Systems Program and Senior Lecturer in the Environmental Earth System Science Department. Her academic background includes a Ph.D. in Geology from Stanford University and a B.S. in Geology from the University of California, Davis. With over two decades of experience, she has dedicated her career to developing interdisciplinary environmental science policy curricula and actively engaging in teaching and research projects that address complex environmental issues. Her interests encompass ecology, energy, land systems management, ocean science policy, and sustainability. Kennedy has been influential in numerous university committees focused on undergraduate education, general education requirements, and student diversity. She continues to contribute to the academic community with ongoing courses in environmental research and interdisciplinary analysis.
