Dr. Julie Krans

Biography

Julie Krans is an Associate Professor at Radboud University, affiliated with the Behavioural Science Institute and the Department of Clinical Psychology. Her research focuses on schema therapy specifically through imagery rescripting techniques, with a particular interest in its effectiveness for treating anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and the underlying mechanisms of these treatments. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she is a senior researcher at Pro Persona Overwaal, an expertise center for anxiety, OCD, and PTSD. Krans is trained as a behavioral therapist and plays a key role in supervising clinical master’s research projects while also coordinating courses on Clinical Professional Skills, Psychological Interventions, and Skills Training Symptom-Oriented Interventions. She is also involved in teaching postgraduate mental healthcare training modules that emphasize scientific attitudes.
