Dr. Julie Lima

Biography

Julie Lima holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Boston University with concentrations in social and behavioral sciences, as well as epidemiology and biostatistics. She earned her PhD in sociology with a concentration in population studies from Brown University. Dr. Lima has a significant role at Brown's Center for Gerontology and Health Care Research, where she focuses on data compliance related to human subjects research and regulatory matters. She leads the Regulatory Institutional Review Board (IRB) team and is an executive member of the Ethics Regulation Technical Data Cores at the NIH IMPACT Collaboratory. Her work primarily involves ethical regulatory issues pertinent to embedded pragmatic clinical trials, especially in contexts where patients are living with dementia and their care partners are involved. Julie continues to build her expertise in these critical areas, contributing to the advancement of health services and policy practice.
