Biography

Julie Oyler, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago and serves as the Chair of the BSD Women's Committee. She specializes in Musculoskeletal Radiology, Osteoporosis, and Quality Improvement in Women's Health. Dr. Oyler completed her undergraduate studies in Biology at Stanford University and earned her medical degree from the University of Chicago, where she also completed her residency in internal medicine and served as chief resident. She has developed a Quality Improvement Patient Safety Curriculum utilized by 500 Internal Medicine residents and co-directs the HealthCare Delivery Improvement Science Track at the Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Oyler teaches nationally on quality improvement and patient safety, having been involved with programs from AAMC and the Society of Hospital Medicine. Additionally, she leads initiatives to enhance women's representation and recognition in academia. Dr. Oyler practices as a primary care provider on the South Side of Chicago and has made significant contributions to faculty development in quality and safety education.
