Biography

Julie Oyler, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago. She serves as the Chair of the BSD Women's Committee and has clinical interests in Musculoskeletal Radiology, Osteoporosis, Quality Outcome Improvement, and Women's Health. Dr. Oyler completed her undergraduate education at Stanford University and obtained her medical degree at the University of Chicago, where she also completed her residency in Internal Medicine. She has played a pivotal role in developing the Quality Improvement Patient Safety Curriculum at the University of Chicago Medicine, which is utilized to instruct 500 Internal Medicine residents. Dr. Oyler is the co-director of the Healthcare Delivery Improvement Science Track at the Pritzker School of Medicine. She teaches quality improvement and patient safety through various national programs and initiatives focused on increasing recognition and awards for female faculty. Dr. Oyler practices as a primary care provider on the south side of Chicago, actively engaging in leadership roles to enhance the academic environment for women in medicine.
