Biography

Julie Steiff is a Teaching Professor at the University of Michigan’s Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, where she specializes in Urban Regional Planning and Professional Writing Instruction. She has been with Taubman College since 2006 and has extensive experience teaching writing at the undergraduate level. She also provides one-on-one support to students through the U-M campus writing clinic, formerly the English Composition Board. Julie's research interests focus on student-centered writing, the revision process, and team writing challenges, as well as the meticulous editing skills necessary for presenting polished professional work. Additionally, she has substantial experience as a freelance editor, working on books, dissertations, theses, and articles in urban planning and accounting, among other fields. She holds a Ph.D. in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan.
