Julie Tzu-Wen Wang is a Senior Research Teaching Fellow at King's College London with a robust background in nanomedicine and drug delivery systems. She obtained her BSc in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and Medical Biotechnology and an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from National Taiwan University in 2002 and 2004, respectively. Julie pursued her PhD at University College London, specializing in Photobiology Cancer Therapeutics under the supervision of Professors SG Bown and AJ MacRobert. Her research involves advanced techniques such as Photochemical Internalization, which is a light-induced site-specific drug delivery technology aimed at enhancing chemotherapy treatments for cancer. Supported by PCI Biotech, a Norwegian pharmaceutical company, her PhD studies included a translational project parallel to a Phase clinical trial at UCL Hospital. Since 2011, her research has focused on pre-clinical translations of nanomedicines for the image-guided delivery of drugs, genes, and radionuclides primarily targeting brain diseases. Julie's work has been significantly funded by organizations such as EPSRC, BBSRC, and the Brain Tumour Charity, and she is currently exploring innovative methods to improve drug delivery to the brain.
Requirements are consistent across King's Business School and Social Science & Public Policy departments for standard Master's entries.
