Biography

Julie Boatright Wilson is a Senior Lecturer in Social Policy at Harvard Graduate School of Education. Her teaching and research focus primarily on poverty policy, family policy, child welfare, and juvenile justice issues. Wilson has contributed to various executive programs at the Harvard Kennedy School, including Performance Measurement and Effective Management for Nonprofit Organizations, and has led courses on research design and research methods. Recently, she has engaged in case studies concerning adoption and public agencies, along with juvenile justice reform and community-based strategies to strengthen families' capacities as parents. Before joining Harvard, she spent several years working in the New York State Department of Social Services, where she directed the Office of Program Planning, Analysis, and Development. Wilson holds a Ph.D. from the City University of New York, obtained in 1978.
