Julien Cooper is an Egyptologist and Nubiologist archaeologist with a focus on the archaeology of the Eastern Desert, particularly the history of nomadic peoples. He has widely taught subjects related to Egyptian and Nubian history, language, archaeology, and world history across various universities. His research interests include the study of Egypt and Nubia, networks of connection in Northeast Africa, nomadic lifestyles, survey archaeology, heritage conservation, ancient Egyptian trade relations, Egyptian epigraphy, and language contact among African languages.
