Dr. Jun Li

Biography

Jun Li is a Professor in the Faculty of Education at Western University, specializing in Comparative International Education and educational policy. He has held significant positions such as the ARC Chair Professor and Past President of the Comparative and International Education Society (CIES). Dr. Li's extensive academic journey began in Shanghai in the early 1990s, where he served as the Deputy Director of the Education Policy Unit at the University of Hong Kong. In 2017, he moved back to Canada to continue his research and teaching. With doctorates from East China Normal University and the University of Maryland, his scholarly work addresses critical issues in educational improvement, policy leadership, higher education, and citizenship education. He has been actively involved in various international institutions and organizations, providing advisory roles and conducting extensive research that has garnered numerous awards and recognition. Li's research interests include educational studies in East Asia, and he has published extensively in both English and Chinese, contributing significantly to the body of work on the Chinese model of educational policy and teacher education.
