Biography

June Sadowsky is a Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, specifically in the Department of General Practice and Dental Public Health at the UTHealth School of Dentistry. She has a rich background in dentistry, having graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. She has served as a dental director at the Richmond State Supported Living Center for Disabled individuals and has actively participated in committees aimed at improving dental care for Medicaid-eligible residents in Texas. Dr. Sadowsky is recognized nationally as a leader in geriatric special care dentistry and is a diplomate of the American Academy of Special Care Dentistry as well as a past president of the American Society of Geriatric Dentistry. In 2018, she was inducted as a fellow into the International College of Dentists. Her current research interests focus on interprofessional collaboration, clinical research involving nurses and basic scientists, and the creation of educational materials for professionals addressing the health needs of the aging population.
