Biography

June K. Wu is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. She specializes in pediatric plastic surgery and craniofacial surgery, with particular interest in Vascular Anomalies and congenital abnormalities affecting the blood and lymphatic systems. Wu serves as the Co-Director of the Interdisciplinary Vascular Anomalies Group at NYP/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and as Co-Director of the Vascular Anomalies Basic Translational Research Program. Her clinical focus includes understanding the pathophysiology of vascular lesions to develop biologically targeted therapeutics. Dr. Wu completed her undergraduate studies in chemistry at Princeton University and received her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She has undergone extensive training, including a residency in Plastic Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center, a Craniofacial Fellowship, and a Vascular Anomalies Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. She is active in professional societies, including the American Association of Plastic Surgeons and the Plastic Surgery Research Council. Dr. Wu has received numerous honors, including the K08 Award from NHLBI and various research grants for her contributions to the field.
