Biography

Jung-Hoon Chun is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He completed his Bachelor of Science at Seoul National University in 1976, then earned a Master of Science from the University of Ottawa in 1980, and a Ph.D. from MIT in 1984. His research interests focus on manufacturing processes, specifically in Chemical-Mechanical Polishing, Continuous Manufacturing, and the development of Pharmaceutical Dosage Forms. He has contributed significantly to the field through numerous patents and has served as a visiting scientist at Nanyang Technological University from 2000 to 2013. He directs the Laboratory for Manufacturing Productivity and the MIT-Korea Program, influencing future engineering talent and encouraging collaboration between the institutions. Chun teaches courses on Design and Management Engineering, shaping the next generation of engineers with a focus on innovative manufacturing technologies.
