Biography

Jungwon Choi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Washington. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 2019, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2013, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Korea University, Seoul in 2009. His research interests encompass high-frequency power converters, wireless power transfer, battery-powered vehicles, industrial biomedical applications, magnetic designs, control systems for high frequencies, energy storage systems, and wide bandgap devices. Dr. Choi was selected as a Rising Star in EECS in 2017 and has received several awards, including the Unlock Idea Award from Lam Research in 2019 and the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER award in 2021. He serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Industrial Electronics and is involved in organizing committees for various IEEE conferences, including the IEEE Energy Conversion & Expo (ECCE) 2023.
