Biography

Junia Kattrup is a PhD Candidate in Religious Studies at the University of Amsterdam. Their research focuses on Coptic literature, Early Christianity, and the material culture of Coptic papyrology. They investigate Coptic texts attributed to Agathonicus of Tarsus, examining the cultural contexts and textual transmission from the 6th to the 11th century. Prior to their doctoral studies, Junia pursued a Master’s degree at Aarhus University in Denmark, where they wrote their thesis on the reception of Solomon and the Queen of Sheba in 10th century Coptic poetry.
