Dr. Jürgen Burger

Biography

Jürgen Burger is a Professor of Precision Engineering at the School of Biomedical and Precision Engineering at the University of Bern. He serves as the Director of Studies for the Master of Science in Precision Engineering. In 1996, he was elected as a Professor of Micro Medical Technology at Bern University of Applied Sciences. In 2006, he co-founded the MSc Biomedical Engineering Master's Program at the University of Bern in collaboration with Professor Nolte. Burger's extensive experience includes work as R&D Director at Johnson & Johnson, focusing on the development of smart implants. He has held visiting appointments at prestigious institutions such as Charité, Humboldt University, and the University of Sydney. His research interests center on the innovative treatment methods and the clinical application of therapeutic and diagnostic systems, with a particular focus on intelligent implants and surgical instruments.
