Biography

Jurgen Kuball is the Chair of the Department of Hematology and the Director of the Bone Marrow Transplantation Program at UMC Utrecht Cancer Centre. His research primarily focuses on tumor immunology and the development of advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs), particularly involving engineered immune cells with an emphasis on the therapeutic potential of receptors derived from γδT cells. He earned his medical degree in Hematology from the University of Mainz, Germany, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA, USA. He joined the UMC Utrecht's Department of Hematology in 2007 as a hematologist and immunologist and has been instrumental in advancing innovative immunotherapies to improve patient outcomes and revolutionize cancer treatment.
