Biography

Jürgen Richter-Gebert is a Professor of Geometry Visualization at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He focuses on combinatorial computer-oriented geometry and polytope theory, with a particular interest in computerized structuring of geometry. His work involves the automatic generation of solutions to geometric problems and the implementation of mathematical visualization software. He completed his studies in mathematics at TU Darmstadt and obtained his doctorate there in 1992, with further studies at KTH Stockholm. He gained practical experience in industry before obtaining his lecturer qualification in 1995 from TU Berlin. From 1997 to 2001, he served as an assistant professor in theoretical computer science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. In 2001, he was appointed as a full professor at TUM.
