Biography

Justin Allen joined the faculty of Texas A&M University's school psychology program in fall 2023. He completed his doctorate in School Psychology with a specialization in quantitative methods at the University of Kansas. Before entering academia, he worked as a practicing school psychologist in the Leavenworth Unified School District for several years, serving as the lead school psychologist. In this role, he supervised the school psychology internship program and provided consultation services in disputed cases. Allen is an engaged researcher with research interests that include examining decision-making practices in manifestation determination reviews and school-based interventions. He has authored and co-authored research articles in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as the roles of school psychologists in manifestation determination reviews and the importance of meta-analyses in advancing the practice of school psychology. He has presented his findings at numerous national and international conferences, including those hosted by the American Psychological Association and the National Association of School Psychologists. As a licensed psychologist and licensed specialist in school psychology in Texas, Allen is actively involved in various editorial boards and serves as an editorial fellow for the School Psychology Review.
