Biography

Justin D. Cole is a Visiting Clinical Lecturer at Yale Law School, where he teaches the Rule of Law Clinic. He earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Yale Law School in 2023 and holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, awarded in 2018. During his time at Yale Law School, Cole served as Articles Editor for the Yale Journal of Health Policy, Law, and Ethics and was the Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Journal of International Law. He was also involved in significant legal internships, including positions at the Office of General Counsel as well as the Office of Chief Prosecutor for Military Commissions at the U.S. Department of Defense, and in the Civil Appellate Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. Cole has contributed to various social justice initiatives, serving as a co-director of the Green Haven Prison Project and actively participating in a biweekly reading group for the Program of Calculated Transition at a maximum-security prison in New York State. His educational background and extensive involvement in legal practice and academic publishing demonstrate his commitment to both legal education and public service.
