Biography

Justin Drager is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist focused on pediatric and adolescent athletic traumatic injuries. He is a staff surgeon at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Canada and an assistant professor at McGill University. Dr. Drager specializes in advanced arthroscopic minimally invasive surgical interventions to treat a full spectrum of knee, shoulder, and elbow conditions. With advanced training in complex fracture surgery and joint preservation, he offers solutions for challenging conditions. Dr. Drager graduated from medical school and completed his orthopedic residency at McGill University. He pursued a sports medicine shoulder fellowship at the internationally renowned Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and another fellowship in orthopedic trauma at the University of Missouri. He joined the orthopedic sports trauma team at Tufts Medical Center in Boston as a staff surgeon and assistant professor in orthopedic surgery. His passion for caring for pediatric and adolescent athletes led him to complete a fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, where he joined the faculty at Shriners Hospital in Canada. Dr. Drager has extensive experience treating athletes at all levels, having served as an assistant team physician for the Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox, and the Chicago Steel USHL hockey club. He is actively involved in advancing sports medicine and pediatric orthopedics through research and education, receiving numerous awards for his work on improving bone and cartilage healing, and has authored 30 manuscripts and book chapters while presenting at numerous national and international meetings.
