Justin W. Hart is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Texas at Austin. He leads the Living Robots Laboratory, which focuses on the science and technology of making robots suitable for the home and workplace. His research aims at developing robots that can interact with people and function effectively in environments designed for human use. The work of his lab encompasses social autonomous human-robot interaction technologies aimed at facilitating the integration of service robots across diverse applications. In addition to the Living Robots Laboratory, Hart co-directs the Living Working Robots project as part of the UT Good Systems initiative and collaborates with the Building-Wide Intelligence Project and the RoboCup@Home team. He holds a Doctorate and Master's degrees in Computer Science from Yale University, as well as a Master of Engineering from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science from West Virginia University.
