Biography

Justin Wiltshire received his PhD in Economics from the University of California, Davis. His research explores the dynamic interplay between local labor market conditions, industrial composition, housing prices, migration, and government intervention. His work has been featured in numerous media outlets and he has provided testimony to the Congressional Joint Economic Committee and the House Select Committee on Economic Disparity and Fairness in Growth. Prior to joining the University of Victoria as an Assistant Professor, he was a postdoctoral scholar at the Center for Wage and Employment Dynamics at the University of California, Berkeley, where he remains an affiliate. His interests include Labour Economics, Urban and Regional Economics, Public Economics, Applied Econometrics, Indigenous Economics, and Environmental Economics.
