Biography

Jyoti Nandan is an Honorary Associate Professor at the Australian National University, where she focuses on Literary Studies and Cultural Studies. She completed her Master's degree in English at the University of New South Wales and earned her PhD from the Australian National University, examining the fiction of Anita Desai through a postcolonial feminist lens. Nandan has held teaching positions at the University of Fiji from 2006 to 2012 and the University of the South Pacific from 2012 to 2013. Since 2009, she has served as the Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Language and Literature in the School of Humanities & Arts at UniFiji. Her current research interests lie in women writers of the South Asian diaspora, and she has actively published scholarly work in the area of women's writing. Nandan is a member of various academic boards and serves as a reviewer for the journal Indialogs.
