Biography

Ka Tat Tsang is a psychotherapist, social worker, group counsellor, trainer, organizational development consultant, writer, and media professional. He joined the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto in 1993 and is an influential figure in the field. Tsang holds the Factor-Inwentash Chair in Social Work in Global Community from 2008 to 2018 and has made significant contributions to the discipline through his development of the Multiple Contingencies Management (MCM) approach, which assists practitioners in addressing increasingly diverse and complicated challenges in contemporary clinical practice. Additionally, he established the SSLD (Strategies Skills Learning Development) system, which aids clients in effectively managing life's situations and achieving their goals by developing necessary strategies and skills. Tsang currently directs the Faculty's China project, which he initiated in 1997, collaborating with colleagues at the University of Toronto to develop an alternative approach to cross-cultural practice known as the Integrative Cross-Cultural Psychotherapy (ICCP) Model.
