Dr. Kabir Husain

Biography

Lecturer in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at University College London. Kabir Husain is a physicist with a comprehensive background in biophysics. His research spans tools in statistical mechanics, soft matter physics, dynamical systems, molecular biology, and experimental evolution. From 2018 to 2023, he was a Yen Biophysics Fellow at the University of Chicago, where he collaborated with experimentalists under the guidance of Arvind Murugan. His postdoctoral work was backed by the James S. McDonnell Foundation, focusing on experimental techniques and their biological applications. He obtained his PhD from the National Centre for Biological Sciences in Bangalore, India, where his research centered on actomyosin cortex signaling at the cell surface.
