Biography

Kaelyn Sumigray earned a B.S. in Biology from Union College in 2006 and a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from Duke University in 2011. She completed her postdoctoral training as a fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2012-2013), where she was awarded the NIH Kirschstein postdoctoral fellowship. She then returned to Duke University as a postdoctoral fellow under Terry Lechler from 2013 to 2019 and received the Dermatology Foundation Research Grant. In 2019, she joined the faculty at Yale University, where she serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics. Her research focuses on the roles of the actin cytoskeleton in cell adhesion, cell polarity, and morphogenesis, particularly in the context of small intestine development and stem cell niches.
