Biography

Kai Du is an Associate Professor at the Smeal College of Business, where he conducts research at the intersection of financial accounting, capital markets, and information economics. His work has been published in reputable academic journals such as the Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, RAND Journal of Economics, Research Policy, and Review of Accounting Studies. Previously, Du held the position of Senior Economic Research Fellow at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and was an Academic Fellow in the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission’s Office of the Chief Accountant. His research interests include Financial Accounting, Information Economics, Investment Companies, Decentralized Finance (DeFi), and Machine Learning.
