Kai Hormann is a full professor at the Faculty of Informatics at the Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano. He was awarded the John Gregory Award in June 2024 for his fundamental contributions and lifetime impact in geometric modeling. His interdisciplinary research in digital geometry processing integrates concepts from computer science, applied mathematics, and engineering to enhance the acquisition, reconstruction, optimization, editing, and simulation of geometric objects.
