Biography

Kaitlin Pomerantz is a visual artist, educator, and writer based in Philadelphia. Her interdisciplinary work encompasses sculpture, site-specific installation, photography, painting, and public art, exploring themes of landscape, land use, and the relationship between humans and nature. Pomerantz has exhibited her work at various venues including Sierra Nevada College and Texas Tech Museum in Lubbock, Texas, as well as Fjord Gallery in Berlin and Philadelphia. She is involved in Monument Lab, a public art festival in Philadelphia, focusing on community engagement through projects such as stoops. Pomerantz has participated in numerous place-based residencies such as Land Arts of the American West and Cabin Time. An educator, she emphasizes field service and experience-based learning in her teaching practices. Pomerantz has taught at Haverford College, Moore College of Art, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, as well as working with high school students in various charter schools. Currently, she teaches drawing, printmaking, and sculpture at Moore College of Art and the University of Pennsylvania and serves as the assistant MFA Chair at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
