Dr. Kaiwen Sun is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He completed his PhD in 2018, focusing on interface engineering of CZTS thin-film solar cells. In 2017, he was awarded the Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics (ACAP) research fellowship, and in 2022, he became an ARC DECRA Fellow. His research work is primarily concentrated on developing high-efficiency, earth-abundant, non-toxic copper-based chalcogenide thin-film solar cells as well as exploring photovoltaic technologies to broaden niche market applications. His main research interests include chalcogenide thin-film solar cells, new PV materials, photoelectrocatalysis, and solar fuels.
