Biography

Kaja Harter-Uibopuu is a professor of Ancient History at the University of Hamburg, where she leads the field of Ancient Law. With a focus on Greek epigraphy and ancient legal history, her research interests encompass constitutional and administrative history of the Greek polis, the history of Greek provinces in the Roman Empire, and ancient international law. Harter-Uibopuu has been instrumental in providing interdisciplinary approaches to the study of ancient law through various research projects, including her leadership roles in the Center Interdisciplinary Study of Ancient Law.
