Biography

Kamal Achuthan is a lecturer in Transport Studies within the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geomatic Engineering at University College London. He serves as the Director of the Urban Sustainability Resilience (USAR) centre. His interdisciplinary research interests concentrate on transport planning and modeling, Geographic Information Science (GIS), simulation, risk resilience analysis, and complex systems related to critical infrastructure. Since joining UCL in 2006, he has been involved as a Research Fellow in various projects funded by EPSRC, ESRC, and NERC and participated in the Knowledge Exchange Secondment with the Department of Transport and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs from 2012 to 2015. His collaborations include partnerships with ABP Ports, Dover, British Library, and the UK Council Authorities. Prior to his role at UCL, Kamal worked as a Research Engineer in the Traffic Engineering Laboratory at the National University of Singapore.
