Dr. Kamil Yenice

Biography

Kamil M. Yenice is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiation and Cellular Oncology at the University of Chicago. He received his Ph.D. in Experimental Physics from the University of Toledo in 1993. Dr. Yenice's career in Medical Physics began at New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center in New York City, after which he served as a lecturer at Penn-State University-Erie. He joined the faculty at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center before his current role at the University of Chicago, where he has been since 2005. Currently, he is the Chief Clinical Physics Director for the Medical Physics Residency Program. His research primarily focuses on the use of image-guided stereotactic treatment delivery methods to improve quality assurance in patient treatments. Dr. Yenice has published extensively on these topics, including the implementation of stereotactic delivery methods such as SRS and SBRT, and he has co-chaired the AAPM TG-101 Report on SBRT. Additionally, he actively participates in professional activities, serving as a co-chair for the ASTRO APEx committee and as chair of the AAPM WGIMRT, advocating for patient safety and improved quality care in the practice of Medical Physics. Dr. Yenice is board certified by the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
