Dr. Kamisha Byas

Biography

Kamisha Byas, MD, is a pediatrician specializing in primary care at Yale School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital and went on to complete a fellowship in Global Health at the University of Utah in 2022. In 2016, Dr. Byas was recognized by the Gold Humanism Honor Society at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, which honors individuals who exemplify compassionate patient care. Her commitment to the medical field is reflected in her achievements, including receiving The Connecticut Children’s Medical Center Chair’s Award for Education. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Byas enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, and baking. She is passionate about working in local advocacy and aims to connect with the New Haven community. Dr. Byas is particularly drawn to pediatrics for its dynamic nature and enjoys building relationships with her patients and their families. Her personal experience growing up in Brooklyn, NY, with her immigrant grandmother highlights her commitment to understanding diverse backgrounds in her practice. Dr. Byas believes in the importance of compassion and the ability to connect with patients from various cultures to effectively optimize child health.
