Biography

Kara Dempster is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry, Dalhousie University. She specializes in brain imaging and early interventions in the study of psychosis. Dempster's research encompasses the application of Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) particularly in the context of schizophrenia. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Acadia University, followed by a Master of Science in Neuroscience, and subsequently earned her Doctor of Medicine from Western University. Dempster pursued her residency training in Psychiatry at Western University and also completed a fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. She is actively involved in clinical and academic research aimed at understanding and treating psychotic disorders.
