Biography

Kara D. Meister, MD, FAAP, FACS is a pediatric otolaryngologist and head & neck surgeon. She received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed her otolaryngology residency at the University of Pittsburgh. Additionally, Dr. Meister completed an NIH-funded fellowship in head & neck research at the University of Pittsburgh and underwent pediatric otolaryngology fellowship at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Stanford. Currently, she serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at Stanford University with a focus on thyroid cancer, head & neck masses, and the impact of environmental pollutants on health. She is a Co-Clinical Chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology and has extensive clinical expertise in thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, hyperthyroidism, and congenital neck masses. Dr. Meister has received several awards for her contributions to the field and participates in various professional organizations, advocating for pediatric otolaryngology. She frequently speaks on topics related to head & neck tumors and thyroid diseases in children and adolescents. Dr. Meister lives in Woodside with her husband, three children, and a dog named Rooney.
