Biography

Karan Mehta received B.S. degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering from UCLA in 2010, and completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT in 2017. He has held positions as a postdoctoral fellow and senior scientist in the Physics department at ETH Zurich. In January 2022, he joined Cornell University in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he leads a research group that operates at the intersection of photonics, atomic physics, and quantum technologies. His research interests include Optical Physics, Solid State Electronics, Optoelectronics, MEMs, Nanotechnology, Advanced Materials, Physical Electronics, Devices, Plasma Science, and Quantum Information Science.
