Dr. Karen Butler Purry

Biography

Karen Butler-Purry is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University. She holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Southern University Baton Rouge, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Howard University. With extensive experience in academia and industry, including a position as a Raytheon Company Professor, her research focuses on computer intelligent systems applied to power distribution. She specializes in distribution automation management, fault diagnosis, and system modeling for hybrid vehicles. Dr. Butler-Purry is recognized for her contributions to intelligent reconfiguration and has published numerous articles related to her areas of expertise.
