Biography

Karen Devon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto, specializing in General Surgery. She completed her MDCM at McGill University, subsequently entering the General Surgery Training Programme and the Surgeon Scientist Programme at the University of Toronto. Dr. Devon was awarded an MSc in Clinical Epidemiology and completed her FRCSC in General Surgery residency. Her postgraduate training includes six months in Breast Surgical Oncology at University Health Network, followed by a Clinical Fellowship in Endocrine Surgery at the University of Chicago, where she also studied surgical treatment for goitre in the Philippines. Dr. Devon further completed a Surgical Ethics Fellowship at the MacLean Center for Clinical Ethics at the University of Chicago. Currently, she is enrolled in the Education Scholar Programme at the Centre for Faculty Development at the University of Toronto and holds a primary appointment as Associate Staff at Women’s College Hospital, with clinical presence also at UHN.
