Biography

Karen Jenkins PE, SE, AIA, LEED AP is the co-founder and managing partner of Shear Structural, with over 30 years of experience in structural engineering design. Her background as a licensed engineer and architect provides a unique perspective in solving problems and understanding client needs. Karen’s work includes the design of corporate headquarters, mission-critical facilities, laboratory and research facilities, educational institutions, and faith-based buildings, along with a wide variety of adaptive reuse projects. She holds degrees from the University of Florida and Georgia Tech and serves on the advisory board of the Georgia Tech College of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Karen has been recognized by Engineering Georgia Magazine as one of the ‘100 Influential Women in Engineering’ in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023.
