Dr. Karen Kensek

Biography

Karen Kensek is a Professor at the University of Southern California's School of Architecture, where she specializes in teaching computer applications in architecture. With over 20 years of experience in transforming the teaching of digital tools in the architectural field, she has made significant contributions to Building Information Modeling (BIM) and sustainability. Her research interests include BIM combined with digital simulation, virtual reconstructions, and solar envelopes. Kensek has co-edited and authored works on BIM, highlighting its current practices and future directions. She has organized symposiums on BIM at USC and has been recognized with numerous accolades, including awards from the Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture (ACADIA) and the Autodesk Revit BIM Experience Award. Kensek holds degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of California, Berkeley.
