Biography

Karen Kopacek joined the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy in August 2002 as the Coordinator of the Pharmacotherapy Lab for the entry-level PharmD program. She graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 1988 and holds an MS in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her practice experience is in acute care, particularly in cardiology and critical care medicine, with a focus on cardiac rehabilitation. Additionally, she actively volunteers for community services, including the Dean/St. Marys Neighborhood Asthma Clinic and Badger Breathers support group. Her professional endeavors focus on expanding pharmacists' roles in patient education and outpatient cardiac rehabilitation following hospital discharge.
