Biography

Karen U. Lindell is a Senior Lecturer in the Legal Practice Skills Program at Penn Carey Law. Her teaching supports the Law School’s public interest programs, emphasizing practical legal skills. Before joining the faculty, she served as a Senior Attorney at the Juvenile Law Center, engaging in impact litigation and policy advocacy to promote the rights and well-being of youth within child welfare and justice systems. She has also clerked for the Honorable Kent Jordan on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Honorable Eduardo C. Robreno in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. A 2012 Honor Graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School, Lindell earned her undergraduate degree in history from the University of Georgia. Her publications include the co-authored article "Family Prevention Services Act: New Era of Child Welfare Reform" in Public Health Reports (2020).
