Biography

Karen Thompson is a Senior Lecturer in Textile Conservation at the University of Glasgow, where she has been involved in research and teaching for over 20 years. Her professional background as a textile conservator includes work with various conservation organizations and museums in the UK and abroad, such as the Textile Conservation Centre and National Museums Scotland. In addition to her academic role, she has led significant conservation projects, including the restoration of original Victorian theatre scenery at Normansfield Hospital Theatre.
